Run payroll monthly, weekly or fortnightly, with PAYE, UIF, SDL, payslips and leave in one place.
Every pay run follows the same path, with a second pair of eyes before anything is final. Once it’s locked, it stays as it was.
Step 1 of 5: Prepare. Salaries, wages, allowances and overtime hours go in. BX1X works out PAYE, UIF and SDL for each person.

Lerato Petersen’s July 2026 run was locked at a salary of R24 000. It should have been R26 000. Nobody edits the locked run: BX1X adds a reversal and a replacement, so the history shows exactly what changed.

UIF is worked out up to the monthly ceiling, so it stays at R177.12 on a R25 000 salary. SDL is paid by you as the employer and never comes off her pay.
Sample data. Every amount is taken from BX1X’s own tested sample calculations on the current SARS tables.
Sample figures. The calculations behind them are covered by tested sample calculations at every tax bracket edge.
Balances live next to the payroll, so you can answer “how many days do I have left?” in seconds.

BX1X adds up what each pay run withheld and prepares the figures and exports to help you file.
Switch on accounting in BX1X and your pay runs post their payroll journals to your books, so nobody types payroll into the ledger by hand.
Bring in opening balances and year-to-date figures from a CSV template, so the tax sums carry on where your old system stopped. Any row that isn’t clear is flagged for a person to decide, never guessed. Our team helps you switch.
Pay is personal. Each person sees only what their role allows, and showing a hidden number is always recorded.
Yes. BX1X works out PAYE on the current SARS tables, UIF and SDL for every pay run, including medical aid tax credits, the extra credit from 65 and the retirement fund deduction limit.
Yes. Put people in pay groups that run monthly, weekly or fortnightly, on a salary or an hourly wage. Each group has its own payday rule, such as moving payday to the previous business day when it falls on a weekend.
A second person approves each pay run by default. If you run the business on your own, you can switch that off, and the change is recorded in the audit trail.
The locked run stays exactly as it was. BX1X records a clear reversal and a replacement run, so the history shows what changed and why.
